In January 2013, JANZZ.jobs, together with its two partners, Holmes Semantic Solutions SAS (Holmes or Ho2S) in Grenoble and the University of Oslo, JANZZ.jobs was in January 2013 selected from among hundreds of innovative projects from across the whole of Europe to be supported over the next 30 months in its research project SAUGE (Semantic Analysis for Unrestricted Generalized Employment). JANZZ.jobs’s role in the project is the further development of job and skills related ontology (the creation of an organized structure of all job titles and skills with the relationships built between them) and its applications by the participating countries within the EUROSTARS programme (EUREKA and EUROPEAN COMMUNITY). The main focus of the SAUGE project is to deploy a technology which will be able to read, analyse and interpret all the variations of text found in unrestricted CVs or résumés. "Parsing", as this process is called, is able to capture all nuances contained in a manually written CV and to transform them into structured information. The extracted information is then linked in the context of Linked Open Data initiative.
This project and the two partners, with the added support from vastly increased development budget and more personnel resources, will enable JANZZ.jobs, the global job/skills matching platform launched by 4uGroup AG, to press ahead even more quickly with the evolution of the platform and new usage options and forms. With six languages already in use on the platform, JANZZ.jobs expects that all European languages and standards that are, as yet, unavailable will be fully integrated, alongside other pioneering functionality, as soon as the middle of 2014.
